2012 Award Winning Gelato

il gelato is the proud recipient of the Silver Medal at the recent 2012 Sydney Cheese & Dairy Royal Show in the Ferrero,  White Choc & Coconut, Cherry Ripe ice cream category.

In April 2011, we entered the PWC Food & Beverage Industry Awards, organised by Food Industry Association WA, for the first time. We chose to enter our latest products launched in December 2010, under the best retail product category.

The product we chose is the semi-freddo tortas, which consist of a delicate sponge cake, layered with a rich Italian semi-freddo, in a decadent chocolate or berry version.

il gelato identified the growth in the market place for premium quality products – the torta targeting the demands of discerning consumers. Primarily it is the quality and freshness of the torta that stand out.

We designed the product, keeping in mind the constraints on time-poor consumers, and chose to build into our brand convenience based shopping aspects such as availability and portability.

And based on these criteria, we were thrilled to be announced the winners in our category. Best Retail Product 2011 PWC Food & Beverage Industry Awards: Simply the best from the West.
